today i met up with the girls i spent more than 6 months with in a foreign part of the world- europe.
it was the first proper and complete one we had since our return slightly less than a year ago and depsite it being a short dinner date, i find that i miss these group of people alot, which also brings back the nostalgic memories in sweden.
no photos of dinner taken but the happy feeling stays.

our nice neighbor just brought us top grade durians- she always gets the best coz her brother-in-law is a durian seller :)

anyway so dinner today was char kway teow-ice jelly cocktail-egg and ham sandwich-2 pieces of chicken-3pieces of fried fish-fruits platter(pear, another kind of pear, kiwi)- durian!

if some remember, i did speak of wanting to set up a food blog since i was in year 1 and today, i have finally realised the reason why the blog is still not up yet- i always gobble up the food when its served before remembering to take photos.

Macao-HK-TW Part 1

Ok i admit i've been so bored lately.
Honestly, i wouldnt mind meeting up with people everyday but thats kind of hard when one is broke.
So i stay at home and after surfing all i can possibly surf on the net, i decided to blog- about the macao-hk-tw trip!
But becoz it was such a long trip and i do want to record all the memories down as detailed as possible so i can relive it when i come back to read this in time to come so the first part shall be our first stop- MACAO:

The early morning we met at changi airport, ready for the trip we've all been looking forward to!
Here, we see some people are not at their best in the mornings..















At hk airport where the guys wait as the girls do their much needed wash-up after the long and tiresome JetStar flight!

After a "nothing to rave about" meal at HK, we were on our way to Macao!

As the ferry leaving HK was too rocky for us to even keep our balance, this photo was taken when we reach Macao land.

Notice the 2 big bananas following us!

Ge Shuai came to the ferry terminal to pick us up so that he could bring us to the hotel!

Here we are on the free shuttle bus.

Free shuttle buses connect macao very well so dun bother paying bus fare when you are there.

The 5-star hotel that Ge Shuai helped book for only 66sgd/room/night, 70% off the normal rate coz his friend works there!

Its apparently the oldest 5star hotel in macao and i love the ancient feel of the place :)

At the entrance of Universidade de Macao, where we were taken on a tour by the President of Board of Directors, Postgraduate Association, Mr Leo Ge!

Lesson of the day: Bananas and red apples like to act cool.

We insisted on seeing his hostel room, which is rather nice a place, despite Zhilong pointing out the dirty windows.

It was Ge Shuai's misfortune that he could not stay with us longer as being the busy man he is, he had to rush to Guang Zhou for a meeting that very afternoon.

So we went back to the hotel to wait for Sophie to bring us around after her invigilation of an exam.

To my pleasant surprise, Edwin Chow came to meet us as well and they brought us to a nice place for dinner and even insisted on treating us.

We then took a long nice walk to the Venetian, the world's biggest casino ever!

It was really quite a walk to the main entrance even after we spotted it- which only goes to show the large-ness of the perimeter.

It has been told that the doors to Venetian are extremely heavy so me and Sophie decided to hold the doors for the other weaklings.

Can u believe the entire ceiling is made of solid gold?

No wonder Edwin Chow says his dream is to sit down there, waiting for a piece of gold to drop so he can live off it for the rest of his life.

Totally the chinese idiom, "Shou Zhu Dai Tu".

The interiors of the Venetian is as grand as it looks.

Besides the HUGE casino, there are retail shops there that open till rathe rlate, almost midnight!

On the 3rd floor there is a river, performances are held here and many high end retailers.

The ceiling is the picture of a fake sky so people will always be under the illusion that the day is still young and thus extend the stay at this place.

Very smart business tactic i say!

The next morning, Lucia, Edwin Chow and Sophie kindly packed breakfast for us as none of us could get up.

Later, i managed to meet Daisy for awhile and here's the entire group in central Macao.

Edwin Leong joined us for lunch later and i think we took some photos but i have no idea where it was.

One other photo i was looking forward to is of Sophie and Edwin Chow being tortured by eekers guys and their circle of death!

Anyhow, i think the Macao trip was extremely fun and i was really glad to meet up with all my friends there!
